Dalyan and Iztusu beach

 The tiny town of Dalyan in the province of Mugla is set in the

centre of a broad delta whose natural beauty is completely

unspoilt. This is one of the surviving corners of paradise, an

area of outstanding natural beauty and historic

interest.Dalyan is situated on a river, surrounded by lush

green fields breaking into spectacular mountain ranges.

 


 

The area around Dalyan has some of

the widest variety of wildlife to be found

in Turkey, including some species of

birds not found elsewhere in the

world.boats do many different special

trips every day. From river and lake

trips around Dalyan and to the mud

baths and the open sea. 


 The river is lined with superb restaurants and bars. On the opposite side of the river is the ancient city of Caunos that is debatably the second greatest archaeological site in Turkey.A short tranquil boat ride away from Dalyan harbour is a four kilometer long beach that is home to the rare Caretta Caretta turtles. 


 

Iztuzu (also known as "Turtle Beach") which is approximately 5km long lies

at the mouth of a the river Dalyan delta. The pictures above,left and below

are of the far end of the beach reached by driving through Dalyan 

town.Thisend of the beach is far quiter than the tourist end and benefits

from facilities including sun loungers, cafe, first aid hut, changing huts

toilets and a dolmus bus service to and from Dalyan.


Directions from the Villa.

Back into Dalaman and right at the roundabout.

Follow road to roundabout and turn left towards Mugla. 5 miles on turn left

to Ortaca and follow directions for Dalyan.

Once in Dalyan drive through the

town and follow the signs for Iztusu beach.
